PMBOK 4th edition for PMP exam

Hi,

PMI has released 4th edition of PMBOK guide for PMP aspirants on Dec'08. So 3rd edition is of no use now. After 30th Jun'09, any one wanna be PMP has to prepare him/herself according to 4th edition of the guide. I have tried long time to get a hold of the book. As I am not a PMI member and PMI member or PMPs are rare in my surroundings, it's very tough to get it. Either you have to buy it or become PMI memebr.

Even I contacted with some wanna be PMP aspirants, they somehow avoided whether they possess the latest edition of the book. After, a long search at last I get hold of it!!!! yeah, I got (I mean, I managed) soft copy of the PMBOK 4th edition from the Internet. Have a look at some random pages from the book (if you don't believe) --

Sounds good?? So if you are interested to get a hold or possess one copy of the book, you may contact with me. Put your email address in the comment with expression of interest. Remember, nothing in the world is actually free...believe this before showing your interest!!!!!

***Update on Success Story*****

Are you confused that it won't work?? In that case, see the mail exchange between me & some one who got it from me..If needed i can provide you more evidence..Hope it will be sufficient

More success story..appreciation from another lucky chap...

Filters are saved searches which also have an action to apply to all waves which match the saved search. The actions supported are

mark as read – Whilst the wave continues to match the search, it will be marked as read.
————————————————
Folders
You can add a folder by using the Add button on the folders section of the Navigation panel. A folder is added by typing the folder name in the text box given and hitting enter.

Google wave invite giveaway -- 2nd phase

Hi,

I have already completed the first phase of wave invite give away program. See the testimonials
at the end of previous article. So, the concept works. Please go through rest of the article keeping in view that "Nothing in the world is actually free".

I gave away 2 invites previously. I have managed 4/5 more nominations in the mean time. Of those, 3 invite has already been arrived!!!! So again at least 3 of you lucky guys will get from me. prior to that, you have to complete some steps. Don't feel boring, once you are selected, you will get the invitations instantaneously, as I will hand over 3 of my Gmail accounts to you!!!! seems great??

Another thing, those who were left out from 1st phase, you need not have to complete the initial steps, just comment on this article again showing your interest. But if you follow the steps here that will be a plus point for you.

  1. Tweet/Retweet the sentence 4/5 times (Just copy & paste it to Twitter)-
Few Google wave invites are still available here http://bit.ly/2lbK64. It works also http://bit.ly/hp7Bw. Increase your chance now!!

followed the step?? Next comment on this article showing your interest and mail address. I will mail you next instructions. Remember, do not comment on this article before completing the initial steps (for new comers). if you do, I will delete those comments.

I will update here on this article daily. the whole program may continue 4/5 days for completion. Couple of more steps will be required in the mean time. So keep patience..stay tuned..and most important, keep an eye on the regular updates!!! and not to mention, please follow the steps.

*******Update on 2009-11-10 ************

As nobody has commented yet, I am thinking people are not much interested OR believe it will not work like many other sites. If you are reading this post and you are believer of later reason, just take a look at the testimonial mentioned at the beginning of the post. If you go there, you will find the mail address of winners. You may mail him/her..however, if nobody requires wave invites, I have nothing to loose..Ha ha!!!

************Update on 2009-11-11*******

So far 1 people have commented. I will congratulate him now and will give a wave invite to him. He does not need to complete last steps. So if you are a disbeliever, it should be enough for you!!!!

*********** Update on 2009-11-13 **********

Hi, this phase is almost over. As mentioned, first commenter is selected. so next steps will be applicable for later commenter. I will wait for 12 hours more. After that , I will select the guys for wave invite....

******** Update on 2009-11-14 ********

Yeah, 2nd phase is closed. But the fact is that, among 3 commenters, 2 commenters have managed wave invite from somewhere else. And 3 rd commenter didn't mention his mail address.. So this phase is completed without giving any wave invite. Of course, i'll launch a 3rd phase soon, if you are interested just comment on this post and mention your mail address also. It's because, i can mail you instructions for this...

Google Wave invites for distribution

**Update: For Google wave invite give away program (2nd phase ) visit here http://bit.ly/2lbK64 .

Hi,

You will be pleased to know that I have been nominated by 3 of my friends. But things were not the same for the last 2 weeks. If you see my past 4-5 articles, it will be clear. Even I announced a Google voice invitation for a wave invitation..but all were in vain. However, Within 1 week, the invitations will be arrived to 3 of my gmail accounts. So, In total I have 24 invitations to distribute. This is not an end, I am trying to grab more invitations from some other friends. May be at last, I will distribute my own account. I am seeing the whole distributing process as a means of profiting myself. So if you support my thinking, you may follow the instructions below. Among the contenders, I will distribute my invitations...Please remember that invitations are limited but contenders may be more...so don't feel that you are cheated in case you fail to get nominations.

Please follow the steps mentioned here. If you don't follow this I will not nominate you...
  1. Browse at least 5 links of this blog. You can browse on main blog page or browse to an article page and go to links there.
  2. Browse the Google wave complete features article in docstoc. Browse on at least 5 links on the article page.
  3. Browse the Google wave 101 article on Bukisa. Just Browse at least 5 articles of the author, no need to click on links there...
Already done the above 3 steps, ok.. Now please add comment to this article showing your interest and mail address...You are one of short listed for wave nominations from my part. If I find anyone has commented without completing the above steps, I will simply delete the comment...

Couple of more steps will be required for completing nomination..I will add those shortly once my invitations are available...

********updated on 2009-10-19*******************

To my surprise, just after 1 day of being nominated by one of my friend, I have got an invitation from Google wave. See the Screenshot of log in screen...

Unfortunately, some are not following rules, please see my comments below.

Also, please pray that I get the chance to invite 8 more people from this invitation....I have heard that some people can't invite others.

*************Updates on 2009-10-20 *************

I have 1 good news and 1 bad news today. Which news you like to hear first? Yeah,, Good news is that I received 3 invitations on 3 of my Gmail accounts and nominated by another friend for wave invitation on 4th Gmail account. So here actually 2 good news!!!

Now, the bad news is that There is no provision to send invite to more people from all these 3 invitation. See the below pic. The red circled text is the problem. Also I logged into wave portal..no provision to send invite to other people...

But don't worry, If needed, I will handover my other 2 gmail accounts to 2 contenders (those have commented here). I apologize for my shortcomings here..I have no way to do more...Another good thing is that, 2 of you will get the invites instantly as i will handover my gmail accounts to you..So once you are selected, no more wait for Google to send you invite

***************** update on 2009-10-21 *****************

Yes, I appreciate your patience. It's coming to an end. Those who have commented here will soon receive a mail to your mailbox / spam folder. Check your mailbox carefully. Rest of the instructions are there. So this time, 2 lucky chaps from all of you get invitations from me.

Some more wave invites will be reached to me soon. That's another part. I'll let you know accordingly. I am very very sorry as I told about 24 invitations previously, but unfortunately I have 2 invitations to give away right now . pardon me for any inconvenience!!!

****************Update on 2009-10-22 *************

And I have calculated the result based on the criteria specified in the mail. 2 of all those who commented (except last 3 people who commented much late) have been selected. Some people didn't obey the steps such as, some people have requested to rule them out of contest, someone didn't reply to me, someone tweeted less than 4 times, some people replied very late etc. So they are temporarily out of final selection. So the winners are

  • tarang.com( a t ) gmail (dt) com
  • iamweer@gmail.com
Kudos the winners from my part. Within hours I will handover my 2 gmail accounts to them. I will append winner's comment here later.

see tarang's testimonial here----

See Weer's testimonial here --

Those who were left out in final selection, don't worry I'll include them in 2nd phase of this program. I will get at least 2 more invites within 4/5 days. So 2nd phase will start then.. I'll let you know when it starts...Stay tuned. Also you may follow my blog for further updates.

ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983..

From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

"The world over, 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'. And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?' "

"Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrow keeps you Human,
Failure keeps you humble and Success keeps you glowing,

But only Faith & Attitude Keeps you going...”

Orange and T-mobile merger!!! will be Uk's largest carrier

T-Mobile and Orange are to merge their UK businesses, creating a mobile phone giant with 28.4 million customers.

source: BBC and softsailor

France Telecom and Deutsche-Telekom announced earlier today that they will merge Orange UK and T-Mobile UK in order to compete against O2 and Vodafone in the British market. Although the partnership doesn’t have a name yet, it will definitely become UK’s largest carrier with 28 million subscribers, and a market share of 37 percent. Before this agreement Orange and T-Mobile were the third, and respectively the fourth largest carriers in the UK with O2 and Vodafone in the first and second place.

The UK market is a very competitive market, and according to France Telecom and Deutsche-Telekom, from now on it will be even more competitive. Both companies expect total savings of €4 billion thanks to this agreement which will provide better indoor and outdoor coverage via 2G and 3G services.

The biggest winners of the deal are the customers as both Orange and T-Mobile will have enough money to develop new technologies, and to provide better subscriptions for their users. The united company will be led by Tom Alexander, CEO of Orange UK, and this may be due to the fact that T-Mobile lost more than 87,000 subscribers in the UK since the end of June. Seems to me that T-Mobile has a lot more to gain than everybody else, but we’ll see what happens and we’re waiting for more details soon.

Barack Obama Speech for Student -- Full Transcript

source: Whitehouse web site

The President: Hello everyone – how’s everybody doing today? I’m here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, kindergarten through twelfth grade. I’m glad you all could join us today.
I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now, with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer, and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little longer this morning.
I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday – at 4:30 in the morning.
Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster."
So I know some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school year.
Now I’ve given a lot of speeches about education. And I’ve talked a lot about responsibility.
I’ve talked about your teachers’ responsibility for inspiring you, and pushing you to learn.
I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done, and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox.
I’ve talked a lot about your government’s responsibility for setting high standards, supporting teachers and principals, and turning around schools that aren’t working where students aren’t getting the opportunities they deserve.
But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world – and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed.
And that’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education. I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself.
Every single one of you has something you’re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide.
Maybe you could be a good writer – maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper – but you might not know it until you write a paper for your English class. Maybe you could be an innovator or an inventor – maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or a new medicine or vaccine – but you might not know it until you do a project for your science class. Maybe you could be a mayor or a Senator or a Supreme Court Justice, but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team.
And no matter what you want to do with your life – I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You’re going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You can’t drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You’ve got to work for it and train for it and learn for it.
And this isn’t just important for your own life and your own future. What you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. What you’re learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.
You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment. You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy.
We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems. If you don’t do that – if you quit on school – you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country.
Now I know it’s not always easy to do well in school. I know a lot of you have challenges in your lives right now that can make it hard to focus on your schoolwork.
I get it. I know what that’s like. My father left my family when I was two years old, and I was raised by a single mother who struggled at times to pay the bills and wasn’t always able to give us things the other kids had. There were times when I missed having a father in my life. There were times when I was lonely and felt like I didn’t fit in.
So I wasn’t always as focused as I should have been. I did some things I’m not proud of, and got in more trouble than I should have. And my life could have easily taken a turn for the worse.
But I was fortunate. I got a lot of second chances and had the opportunity to go to college, and law school, and follow my dreams. My wife, our First Lady Michelle Obama, has a similar story. Neither of her parents had gone to college, and they didn’t have much. But they worked hard, and she worked hard, so that she could go to the best schools in this country.
Some of you might not have those advantages. Maybe you don’t have adults in your life who give you the support that you need. Maybe someone in your family has lost their job, and there’s not enough money to go around. Maybe you live in a neighborhood where you don’t feel safe, or have friends who are pressuring you to do things you know aren’t right.
But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life – what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you’ve got going on at home – that’s no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That’s no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That’s no excuse for not trying.
Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future.
That’s what young people like you are doing every day, all across America.
Young people like Jazmin Perez, from Roma, Texas. Jazmin didn’t speak English when she first started school. Hardly anyone in her hometown went to college, and neither of her parents had gone either. But she worked hard, earned good grades, got a scholarship to Brown University, and is now in graduate school, studying public health, on her way to being Dr. Jazmin Perez.
I’m thinking about Andoni Schultz, from Los Altos, California, who’s fought brain cancer since he was three. He’s endured all sorts of treatments and surgeries, one of which affected his memory, so it took him much longer – hundreds of extra hours – to do his schoolwork. But he never fell behind, and he’s headed to college this fall.
And then there’s Shantell Steve, from my hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Even when bouncing from foster home to foster home in the toughest neighborhoods, she managed to get a job at a local health center; start a program to keep young people out of gangs; and she’s on track to graduate high school with honors and go on to college.
Jazmin, Andoni and Shantell aren’t any different from any of you. They faced challenges in their lives just like you do. But they refused to give up. They chose to take responsibility for their education and set goals for themselves. And I expect all of you to do the same.
That’s why today, I’m calling on each of you to set your own goals for your education – and to do everything you can to meet them. Your goal can be something as simple as doing all your homework, paying attention in class, or spending time each day reading a book. Maybe you’ll decide to get involved in an extracurricular activity, or volunteer in your community. Maybe you’ll decide to stand up for kids who are being teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look, because you believe, like I do, that all kids deserve a safe environment to study and learn. Maybe you’ll decide to take better care of yourself so you can be more ready to learn. And along those lines, I hope you’ll all wash your hands a lot, and stay home from school when you don’t feel well, so we can keep people from getting the flu this fall and winter.
Whatever you resolve to do, I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it.
I know that sometimes, you get the sense from TV that you can be rich and successful without any hard work -- that your ticket to success is through rapping or basketball or being a reality TV star, when chances are, you’re not going to be any of those things.
But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won’t love every subject you study. You won’t click with every teacher. Not every homework assignment will seem completely relevant to your life right this minute. And you won’t necessarily succeed at everything the first time you try.
That’s OK. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who’ve had the most failures. JK Rowling’s first Harry Potter book was rejected twelve times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, and he lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, "I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
These people succeeded because they understand that you can’t let your failures define you – you have to let them teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently next time. If you get in trouble, that doesn’t mean you’re a troublemaker, it means you need to try harder to behave. If you get a bad grade, that doesn’t mean you’re stupid, it just means you need to spend more time studying.
No one’s born being good at things, you become good at things through hard work. You’re not a varsity athlete the first time you play a new sport. You don’t hit every note the first time you sing a song. You’ve got to practice. It’s the same with your schoolwork. You might have to do a math problem a few times before you get it right, or read something a few times before you understand it, or do a few drafts of a paper before it’s good enough to hand in.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new. So find an adult you trust – a parent, grandparent or teacher; a coach or counselor – and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.
And even when you’re struggling, even when you’re discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you – don’t ever give up on yourself. Because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country.
The story of America isn’t about people who quit when things got tough. It’s about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best.
It’s the story of students who sat where you sit 250 years ago, and went on to wage a revolution and found this nation. Students who sat where you sit 75 years ago who overcame a Depression and won a world war; who fought for civil rights and put a man on the moon. Students who sat where you sit 20 years ago who founded Google, Twitter and Facebook and changed the way we communicate with each other.
So today, I want to ask you, what’s your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a president who comes here in twenty or fifty or one hundred years say about what all of you did for this country?
Your families, your teachers, and I are doing everything we can to make sure you have the education you need to answer these questions. I’m working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn. But you’ve got to do your part too. So I expect you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don’t let us down – don’t let your family or your country or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it.
Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.

Programmatically Bluetooth device pairing with no passkey -- problem and workaround/ solution

Hi,

I hope you already know that, some Bluetooth devices are dumb/ without non interactive GUI and for some of these devices, pairing is done with no passkey. This is very easily done from OS level (via control panel). But the problem occurs when you try to pair with such devices programmatically. You will see some GUI where a request from device will require some passkey to you. This problem I observed with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.

I have searched the web extensively, but found no workaround. I got some suggestions, such as 0000, 9999, 1234 and so on. But no result was there.

WorkAround

There can be 2 workaround here.
  • Using Windows Bluetooth API
  • Using 32feet.net API..this works well with Microsoft Bluetooth stack
Seems Interesting??? Just Chime in so that I can add the workarounds here...

Snow Leopard, Next generation OS from Apple

Have you heard of Snow Leopard ? it's not actually a Leopard, but a venture from Apple in the Operating System (OS) arena. it’s the next iteration of Apple’s Mac OS X, and it’s also a beast that hunts cute little snow bunnies (no, not young women who spend a great deal of time skiing) and *gasp* eats them. Hence, it sometimes has blood around its mouth, and sure enough, the snow leopard pictured on the desktop you get when you install the latest version of Mac OS X, had something alive for breakfast the morning the picture was taken.

It was released in June. Now a renewed version is going to be published within this month (Aug'09). if you want to know the features of Snow Leopard, browse the following Link

Hope you will enjoy it. Apple is rocketing with it's innovation

Gartner Hype Cycle 2009 Report: Twitter trending down, Web 2.0 up

Analyst firm Gartner has just released its latest Hype Cycle white paper, detailing some of the biggest trends in technology this year. According to the report, cloud computing, e-books and Internet TV are at the "Peak of Inflated Expectations," while this year's biggest hit Twitter is said to have "tipped over the peak" and is just about to enter the infamous "Trough of Disillusionment." Social software suites and other microblogging services are likewise starting their downward trend. Interestingly, web 2.0 is deemed to be nearly past the Trough and entering the "Slope of Enlightenment."

We can't help but feel that Gartner may be underestimating the impact of microblogging. It remarks that services like Twitter enable "new kinds of fast, witty, easy-to assimilate exchanges." Microblogging is rated as having a "moderate" impact on business, however Gartner does not analyze the over-arching trend of Real-time web that microblogging exemplifies. They do make a good point that "channel pollution" is a current issue with these services, however this is where the ecosystem of search and filtering products - around Twitter especially - are proving their worth. See also our post earlier today about the new distributed forms of microblogging that may rise to take Twitter's place over time.

Visit Gartner Inc. web page for details of the report. Also, you may find a greater details of the report here. Also, here is 2nd link for the article.
